Why are more people from the UK seeking IVF treatment in Greece?

Over the past couple of years we have encountered an increase in our patient numbers from the UK. The main reasons why people seek treatment abroad are...
1) Need for treatments that are not offered in the UK
Egg donation is indeed offered in UK clinics but with an eponymous donor and also with a high cost. There is also a shortage of donors and hence a long waiting list, which for some women may mean that they may then not qualify for treatment due to age restrictions. This has led many couples / single women to seek treatment in Greece. At Newlife IVF Greece we offer exclusive fresh egg donation treatment cycles on a one to one basis with eggs from a donor of proven fertility. This type of scheduling leads to high success rates and in the majority of cases surplus day 5 embryos for future use and all this at very competitive prices.
2) Lack of NHS funding
There is a huge variation between the availability of funding for IVF treatment throughout the UK, well known as the ‘postcode lottery’. Lack of funding and high pricing of private fertility treatments have led many coupes to seek treatment in Greece.
3) High costs of Private treatment in the UK
Private IVF treatment cycles in the UK is expensive and many of the necessary parts of the treatment cycle are charged as extra ‘add-on’ costs, like for example ICSI, blastocyst culture etc. At Newlife we offer package IVF treatment cycles with no hidden costs and many couples seeking treatment with us find that the cost of the whole IVF treatment cycle and their travel costs work out to be less than a treatment cycle in the UK.
If you wish to find more information about any of the treatment options offered at Newlife IVF Greece you can use our form here, so we can either set up a free Video Call consultation with one of our Infertility specialists or arrange a live appointment in one of the free information sessions offered in the UK.
